Three Microsoft Office Apps That Will Help You Increase Collaboration Across Your Network

The past two years has taught us a great deal about working remotely. While not being in the same room to bounce ideas off of one another, it can be hard to collaborate and get creative ideas flowing. In this article, we'll describe three ways Office 365 tools can help you collaborate more effectively with your colleagues.

Microsoft Whiteboard

The digital whiteboard is used for brainstorming, planning, and thinking creatively. The purpose of this free app is to recreate the whiteboard experience so that you can share ideas at the touch of a button. You have the ability to share and collaborate with team members, add images, documents, sticky notes, draw, and more.

Microsoft Whiteboards can be accessed by clicking the share button and then selecting whiteboard among the options. You can prepare your whiteboard ahead of time by creating a meeting invitation in your calendar and clicking the whiteboard tab.

A Whiteboard can be added to a Teams Channel for projects or teams so that members can view and update it at their convenience.

As soon as the meeting concludes, the whiteboard can be saved as a PDF or jpg. Furthermore, you can also create your own whiteboard templates that you will be able to use in the future.

Polls in Teams

Microsoft Teams provides the Polls feature for collecting real-time feedback across your organization or facilitating a remote classroom. The organizer can prepare polls in advance or you can create a poll and send it out during the meeting.

The Polls feature can be enabled by adding the Forms function to your Teams chat. Click the three dots at the bottom of the chat window, search for "Forms," and then click "Add". An additional icon will appear at the bottom of your chat window - select it to create a poll.

The results can be viewed in real time and exported to an excel file so that you can share them with colleagues or run any analysis of the feedback.

PowerPoint Live

With PowerPoint Live in Teams, you will have all the tools you need to present confidently. You can now review notes, participate in chats, and see your audience in one place. Additionally, you can seamlessly switch between presenters without awkward transitions.

This method is not only great for presenters, but participants can also interact with hyperlinks and videos at their own pace and consume the information at their own pace. By doing so, presenters can keep viewers engaged and motivated throughout the presentation.

To begin, start a meeting in Teams. You can take advantage of PowerPoint
Live by choosing a recent file or by uploading one from the new and improved Share content in Teams instead of sharing your screen.
